I’m including some of my favorite shots from a recent trip I took to Tennessee.

This place was where important things happened in my formative years. Perhaps you remember me writing about it in an earlier post. If not, you can take a look here.

This doesn’t require an explanation. It’s beautiful and breathtaking.

I must confess, I am partial to roses. And a rose after it’s been raining. Exquisite.

In 1982, Knoxville hosted the World’s Fair. Two structures from that remained: the Sunsphere and the Tennessee Amphitheater.
The Sunsphere, on the left, stands 266 feet high, 26 stories tall. Its panes of glass were made of 24-karat gold. The structure was restored in 2007, and the 4th floor observation deck was re-opened to the public for free.
The Tennessee Amphitheater, on the right, was also built for the 1982 World’s Fair. And, it has undergone some renovations, most recently in 2007. And, it is still being used by the public.

I saw this outdoor art while riding on a free trolley through downtown Knoxville.

I took these of the Nashville Parthenon.
