My focus on this week’s “thanks” is on gifts, blessings, and delight:

  • A local chocolatier’s (Karen’s) love and passion for creating delicious art, over at Stargazer Fine Chocolates.
  • Teachers taking the time and effort to understand how children are unique and special, play to their strengths, and help them learn.

  • Autumn’s vivid and bold colors.
  • The opportunity to help a friend color her hair and learn more about the process.
  • The passion, skill, and beauty with which an oboist, from the Colorado Symphony, practiced at the DYAO’s (Denver Youth Artists Orchestra’s) string ensemble rehearsal Monday.
  • Being asked to support an individual struggling through a very tough situation not unlike one I had weathered.
  • My amazing massage therapist, who works wonders on my tight upper body muscles.
  • The improvement of the floor of one of the bedrooms, from a sea of clothing to discernible hardwood floors.
  • Dedication from a like-minded individual who cleaned important living spaces thoroughly and got rid of allergens that make me suffer miserably.
  • Amazing cinematography, creative story, and excellent acting in The Illusionist.

  • The appreciation and desire the kiddos have for me reading to them at bedtime. Right now, I’m reading the British version of the second Harry Potter Book: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
  • Sending of an Instagram submission and vision statement to a magazine (for publication consideration).

  • Extra time with the kiddos at the beginning of the week, since they had two days off school, when I had a chance to make lasagna, oyako donburi, and stuffed peppers; and I had extra time to cut my son’s hair.

  • The quaint, full-of-personality coffee shop, Romancing the Bean, located at the light rail station in Downtown Littleton.
