Suspending Suspicion

I had been scoping out local coffee shops I hadn’t visited yet, and one popped up on my Google Maps search that didn’t involve traveling far. The locale, however, was suspicious.

Okay, maybe “suspicious” isn’t the appropriate word.

Disinterested is more like it.

It’s in a wealthy part of Denver, where people spend large sums of money.

That’s not where I am in life. And frankly, that’s not me.

What propelled me to go, in spite of my preconceived presumption that the place might be stuffy and boring was my desire to visit as many locally owned coffee shops in the Denver metro area as possible.

So, I shouldn’t skip this one.

This Aviano Coffee Shop place took some searching to find. Even with my Google Maps on hand. Cherry Creek is a maze. And, I’m terrible with directions.

Once I found the place, parking was tricky. It was kind of like finding a place in downtown Denver. Spaces were sparse. The lot adjacent to the coffee shop was private parking. Parking in the back was not public. I had to find metered parking along the street.

As I approached, though, I was intrigued. It didn’t look posh and boring.

After entering, my eyes danced with excitement.

The inside was unlike any place I had ever been. The decor was different.

The rest did not disappoint. The baristas were warm and inviting. The coffee and pastries selections appeared amazing.

The latte art was exquisite. This barista made my mocha. Beautiful, right? It was tasty, too.

And, the place was busy with all kinds of people. Individuals on the way to work. Business meetings. Friends visiting, with little ones in tow.

Plus, I learned more about “craft coffee,” after I looked up Aviano Coffee online and found out that that is one of their defining features.

I have a good feeling about Aviano Coffee shop. Can’t wait to go back. I am so glad I didn’t go on my initial feeling and reservation about going.
